Mackinac Island: Hotel on Island vs. Hotel off Island Please Help!?
I want to go to Mackinac Island with my dad and a friend and I was trying to find a hotel and I wanted to stay on the island because you can just wake up and go out and if you stay off the island you have to get on the ferry to get to the island. But that’s not gonna be a good enough reason to convince my dad to stay on the island. if anyone can think of any other things that might help get my dad to stay on the island then off could you please give them to me because he’s like “oh the hotels are cheaper off the island”

well i live near the island and first off each time you would want to go to the island the ferry ride is around $20 i think, not to mention if you can find a cheap hotel on the island it has a great view when you wake up in the morning. secondly i go to mackinaw city all the time, and its always so busy, its a completely different atmosphere than the island… its all tourists and isnt anything like the island. the island is slightly more expensive but it is well worth the investment if you want to go and have a relaxing trip, not to mention if you want to get out and do things the fairies only run at certain times. it’s so much more of a hassle to stay off the island, you might save a dollar or two, but to me the quality of the trip is so much better if you stay on the island
